Capital for the Resource Economy

M2ALTERNATIVES provides discretionary investment management to transaction-specific SPVs, co-investment vehicles, and private funds investing across metals and mining. The firm is responsible for investment approval, portfolio management, risk management, governance, and realization within each vehicle’s mandate.

Each mandate is defined by its investment objective, eligible investments, capital requirements, holding period, return profile, risk parameters, liquidity constraints, and realization strategy. Investment decisions integrate technical, financial, commercial, legal, and jurisdictional analysis to assess asset quality, development requirements, financing exposure, downside protection, and potential return.

The investment management process covers underwriting review, transaction approval, execution, portfolio monitoring, follow-on capital, amendments and waivers, restructuring, enforcement, and exit. Performance is assessed against operating budgets, technical milestones, financing requirements, contractual obligations, and the investment case approved at entry.

Risk management addresses geological uncertainty, technical execution, project development, commodity exposure, capital availability, dilution, counterparty performance, jurisdiction, liquidity, and exit conditions. Scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, capital planning, and ongoing risk monitoring support investment decisions throughout the holding period.

M2ALTERNATIVES maintains the governance and operating framework required for each vehicle, including conflicts management, valuation oversight, compliance, reporting, recordkeeping, and service-provider oversight. Each vehicle retains its own investment mandate, economics, governance structure, risk profile, and reporting requirements.
